It’s sad bc jiraiya could have been a really cool character if he hadn’t been such a fucking creep and a raging sexist. Like some parts of his story are genuinely good, but then he goes and tells child konan she’s gonna be SO hot one day, wtf.

Like the concept of a rough, weirdo hermit who has frog powers, has a shared past with the head of a criminal organization and writes trashy romance in his free time is not bad. But then he tells his godson, whom he just fucking ignored until he was 12, that he won’t train him unless he turns into a sexy naked lady. And also takes all his money. And spies on naked women all the time. And makes demeaning, objectifying comments about every. Single. Woman he meets.
