Hi!  Modern AU is a really big umbrella term…  That could mean modern high school aus, coffee shop aus, gangs/crime aus,… for a fandom like Naruto, almost anything non-canon universe is usually a modern au.  And, so then, haha, I WOULD KNOW A LOT.

So.  To cut this into just plain and simple Modern AU NaruHina, this list will not include high school or college NaruHina.

1. “Serenity Prayer” by @katarinahime - Rated E for domestic abuse, substance abuse, and smut.  Multi-chapter, ongoing.  In the midst of picking themselves up from failed marriages, Hinata and Naruto cross paths years after losing touch with each other. Angst warning.
2. “(common side effects)” by @katarinahime and its companion in Hinata’s POV “Medicated” by @szajnie - Rated E for self-harm, suicide attempt, substance abuse, depictions of violence, and smut.  Multi-chapter, ongoing.  Naruto and Hinata learn to love themselves in order to be able to love each other.  Angst warning.
3. “Unless the World Were to End” (one-shot) and its spiritual successor “21 Days” (multi-chapter, ongoing) by @bunny-hoodlum - Rated E for smut. Anonymous internet friends decide to meet up IRL and give each other their first times. Fluffy, angsty.
4. “You love like you’ve always been lonely” by @linisen - Rated E for smut and referenced rape in the past.  Multi-chapter, complete.  After a party-gone-wrong, Hinata decides to disappear for good.  A decade later, Naruto finds her. Very fluffy.
5. “Come and Find Me When the Weather is Fine” by @badluckbrebis​ - Rated T. Multi-chapter, ongoing.  Returning home from working abroad, Hinata, now a skilled chocolatier, and Naruto, a busy aide to the Hokage, find their paths overlapping.  Fluffy.
6. “I Met You At the Sex Shop AU” by jojo07 - Rated E for smut. Multi-chapter, ongoing.  Hinata could not have foreseen that working in a place like a sex toys store would lead her to the sweetest guy she’s ever met.  Fluffy and a little dramatic.
7. “Side Effects” by Cheating Death - Rated E for graphic non-con and smut. Multi-chapter, complete.  Naruto and Hinata decide to participate in a high-paying clinical study, but the pay turns out to be too good to be true.  Just really smutty.
8. “Love is in the Air” by @vegebulsoup - Rated E for smut. Multi-chapter complete.  Hinata, a stewardess, wonders if she might ever be bold enough to approach a certain blond pilot.  Fluffy.
9. “As Luck Would Have It” by @vegebulsoup - Rated M for mentions of a debauchery-filled Las Vegas night.  Multi-chapter, complete.  Two strangers wake up naked in bed together with no memory of how they got there.  Funny.
10. “Friends with benefits” by @schnikschnack - Rated T. Multi-chapter, ongoing.  When Hinata notices that her coworker lacks his usual energy, he confides that he just lost his sex buddy.  So Hinata offers to help.  A small angst warning.
11. “Engaged or whatever…” by Devahhole - Rated E for smut.  Multi-chapter, complete.  Shenanigans, jealousy, and sex ensue when Naruto and Hinata decide to tie the knot.  Funny and dramatic.
12. “Special Delivery” by @mmmbuttery - Rated T. One-shot.  The women at Konoha Heavy Industries enjoy checking out the delivery men.  Fluffy & funny.
13. “Saturday Night at the Movies” by breakfastinbed - Rated G. One-shot.  When all their friends cancel on them, two strangers end up enjoying a movie together. Fluffy & funny.
14. “AU Prompt 1: Phone Booth” by @magmawrites​ - Rated T. One-shot.  Walking home late one night, Hinata notices a man following her.  A small suspense warning.
15. “Chapter 38″ From “Between the Trees” by @utsus - Rated T. One-shot. Naruto, a paramedic, saves Hinata’s life. Fluffy.
16. “Girl No 10″ by meeiwen - Rated M. Multi-chapter, complete. Naruto makes a mistake with a dancer one drunk night.  Years later when he meets her again, suddenly the rest of his life starts to look like a mistake. Angst if you want to know what dying feels like warning.
17. “Differences” by EroPrincess - Rated E for drug use and smut. Multi-chapter, ongoing. Naruto Uzumaki, an ostentatious drug dealer meets an elusive escort Hinata Hyuga. Smutty and dramatic. 
18. “The Superstar Falls in Love” by HoneyWriter78 - Rated E for smut. Multi-chapter, complete.  Hinata captures the attention of the ultra-famous singer Naruto.  Smutty and dramatic.
